To that end, we’re partnered with Politics and Prose, a local D.C. bookstore committed to “cultivating community and strengthening the common good through books, programs, and respectful exchange of ideas”. Together, we are bringing our guests a curated selection of works about D.C., history, and culture. You can see the current list here. The books are available for purchase in our lobby.
To capture the unique essence of Washington, D.C., Hamilton Hotel has created several themed suites. The first such specialty suite—curated in partnership with Washington, D.C.’s Newseum—pays homage to Alexander Hamilton’s news heritage as the creator of the New York Evening Post in 1801, and supports the museum’s mission to increase public understanding of the importance of a free press and the First Amendment.
Dubbed “The Newsroom,” the suite showcases the Freedom Forum‘s signature Today’s Front Pages exhibit, a daily gallery of the front page news from more than 800 international newspapers, on iPads. The suite also features Pulitzer Prize-winning interviews and The Pulitzer Prize Photographs coffee-table book. A second iteration of The Newsroom celebrates the museum’s ground-breaking exhibit Rise Up: Stonewall and the LGBTQ Rights Movement.
Hamilton Hotel has partnered with Ashley Blazer Biden to design new uniforms for our associates. Biden, daughter of Jill Jacobs and former Vice President Joseph Biden, is executive director of the Delaware Center for Justice, and a social worker by profession. Her collaboration with Hamilton Hotel is Biden’s second fashion venture following the success of Livelihood—a socially and ethically conscious, weekend-wear apparel company she launched in 2017 that combines her passion for both fashion and social good.
As part of our enhanced health and fitness offerings, Hamilton Hotel is the first and only US hotel to have an exclusive fleet of Lopifits—an eclectic walking bike imported from The Netherlands, the “bicycle capital of the world.” Hotel guests have complimentary access to one of six bikes to cruise around Washington, D.C. and see the city’s iconic sites in a fun way, while simultaneously enjoying a workout. Propelled by a battery that moves the treadmill while a person walks, the rider chooses the gear/speed they want (speeds of 3 to 20 MPH), which provides a low physical impact and high cardio/high calorie-burn exercise.
To cater to the distinctive needs of our guests, Hamilton Hotel has curated a selection of elevated amenities that can be requested when booking a reservation, or upon check-in. Items include wellness kits from our partner, Jet Set, a brand focused on helping people create happier, healthier lifestyles. The exclusive “Self-Care Kits” offer health and beauty travel essentials from bespoke, small-batch makers, and includes a face mask and body oil, as well as a Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, yoga mat, and mini fridge for personal use. Presented in a branded tote and available for purchase, guests can also order these kits delivered directly to their rooms.
Hamilton Hotel’s 24-hour, full-service Fitness Center features one of today’s most popular fitness brands: Peloton. Guests have complimentary access to two Peloton bikes that offer live or on-demand high-energy indoor cycling classes for beginner, intermediate, and advanced fitness enthusiasts. We also offer a wide variety of additional equipment, including treadmills, elliptical trainers, strength training machines, free weights, balance and medicine balls, and more.
Accommodations at Hamilton Hotel feature a selection of luxurious bath products from our partner, skoah. skoah began in 2001 in Vancouver’s Yaletown district. Its original vision was to create a full service spa with a different attitude and atmosphere. In 2003, skoah launched a facials-only concept and a proprietary skin-care product line with five products. Subsequent new products were then crafted into retail products based on feedback and demand. While there are many single-service concepts now, skoah blazed a trail in creating the first-to-market, facials-only shop. skoah’s goal is to bring its uniquely personalized skin-care training, and roadmap to healthy skin, into new communities across North America one face at a time.
