The Newsroom: Rise Up Package

In celebration of the exhibit Rise Up: Stonewall and the LGBTQ Rights Movement, Hamilton Hotel has collaborated with the Newseum—a dynamic, engaging, and interactive museum of news—to offer D.C.’s first-ever newsroom suite.

We invited award-winning actor, singer, producer, director, and activist Alan Cumming to curate this signature suite, commissioning him to select artifacts and images that illustrate key moments in the advancement of the LGBTQ movement. Features include front-page news and pivotal cover stories that grace the suite’s walls, as well as news-driven amenities and ground-breaking pop culture artifacts from TV, music, and sports.

When you book a two-night stay in The Newsroom: Rise Up suite, you’ll also enjoy an array of additional Newseum perks.

  • Two general admission tickets to the Newseum
  • Special Newseum swag
  • Newseum content showcased on in-room iPads including:
    • The museum’s signature “Today’s Front Pages”
    • Two Pulitzer Prize-winning interviews: “2007 Breaking News from AP” and “1945 Marines Raise the Flag on Iwo Jima”
    • The photo collection of freelance photojournalist Ted Polumbaum
  • Discount on the book Moments: Pulitzer Prize-Winning Photographs
  • Tickets to The Newseum Nights event on October 26, 2019 (only applicable if staying over date)
